Warts

Warts are small growths on the skin that are typically raised and rough. Normally, warts do not cause pain, but they may itch. Plantar warts are sometimes associated with pain as they are occur on the bottom of the feet and are typically aggravated by wearing shoes and socks. Warts are caused by viruses in the human papillomavirus (HPV) family. Because some people are more resistant to the HPV viruses, they do not get warts as easily as other people. For those who are susceptible to warts, they will want to avoid direct contact with anyone who has warts.

For many people, they do not worry about having a wart or warts. Often warts disappear on their own without any treatment. Some people however feel very self-conscious about having warts. If you are someone with a wart or multiple warts and wish to have them removed, Dr. Jamie Weisman can provide the most advanced skin treatments for wart removal. With experience with both adults and children, Dr. Weisman and her staff offer the safest and most effective solutions for wart removal and prevention of recurrences.

Each patient is seen and evaluated to determine the exact treatment plan needed for wart removal. For many, an at home treatment plan using salicylic acid products works very well. Others with multiple warts or with warts that have roots deep within the skin may need a simple, in-office removal treatment such as liquid nitrogen.

Dr. Weisman is dedicated to giving each patient the highest quality care and to treating every patient on an individual basis. The needs (both physically and emotionally) of everyone are different. Dr. Weisman at Medical Dermatology Specialists wants you to leave feeling confident in the care that you received.
