Warts

Warts are small growths on the skin that are typically raised and rough. Normally, warts do not cause pain, but they may itch. Plantar warts are sometimes associated with pain as they are occur on the bottom of the feet and are typically aggravated by wearing shoes and socks. Warts are caused by viruses in the human papillomavirus (HPV) family. Because some people are more resistant to the HPV viruses, they do not get warts as easily as other people. For those who are susceptible to warts, they will want to avoid direct contact with anyone who has warts.

For many people, they do not worry about having a wart or warts. Often warts disappear on their own without any treatment. Some people however feel very self-conscious about having warts.
